Honor
Kill or Not Kill
One of the things that really gets other pilots upset and pissed is getting killed right after a re-pop, or rebirth.  On re-pop you're like a new born baby.  You're a little disoriented and have no serious way of protecting yourself.  Here are two ways to behave.  1) Just kill the SOB and screw it! 2) Honor the other pilot, and yourself and pass by a pilot who has just re-popped because it is lame to kill them.  I reject the first way of behaving.  It is lame to kill someone on re-pop However I've been killed many times by a pilot whom I have passed up on their re-pop.  The passed up pilot finds a shaker and follows you or does a quick shot at your backside, and whammo you are dead.  Of course this would not have happened if you had wasted him in the first place.  Well, I practice "Do Unto Others as They Do Unto You."  I will flare you on your re-pop and pass you by.  But the first time you kill me on re-pop, follow me, or threaten me after I have passed you by, you are fair 're-pop' game from then on.  Believe me when I say you will pay many times over for that cheap shot.  So, when you see a pilot flare you after you re-pop that means that the other pilot is NOT going to kill you.  If you see them re-pop and take a cheap shot at them, then you just told them how you want to play the game.  Don't complain.   I will play it anyway you wish, makes no matter to me.  We all should have some Honor while playing the game and one of the best ways to show your  Honor is to flare and pass up the cheap shot.  Remember this!  If you don't I will most certainly remind you in the game in a way that you will understand. :)

Note: In Descent3 Earthshaker2001 there are so many shakers that when you spawn you have one in easy reach most of the time.  If I see you, and your going for a close shaker I will kill you.

It happens that you will unintentionally kill another pilot who just re-popped.  You round a corner and their ship is there!  You will quickly learn to apologize.  F8 and tell that pilot you are sorry.  You tell them, and others in the game, a lot when you apologize.  You tell them you don't like cheap shots and that you are an "Honorable Pilot."   We all make mistakes.  The other pilot, realizing mistakes happen, will probably just reply "NP", No Problem, and that will be the end of it.  To help avoid this sort of mixup, you too can flare when you re-pop.  It tells the other pilot(s) to stand down... you are no threat.  Head away from them, without firing any weapons, find some weaponry and enter the fray once again!

Just What Is Honor?
The Question of Honor was brought up by a fellow Wildcard who was having a problem with another Wildcard member.   He requested some discussion on the subject from other Wildcard members.   It dawned on me that some may not have a clue as to just what Honor is.   The following was my two cents worth:
If a Person has NO Honor, and we are that before we are Pilots. If there is no honor with in someone, then that person needs to take a long look in a mirror.  If after that he can still not see the need for honor, then he has need to resign from the human race.   Honor is respect for all others and above all respect for one's self.   Honor is showing that respect to everyone in the things we do and say.   Honor is placing others ahead of your own personal desires.   Honor is admitting when your wrong.   Honor is doing the right thing, and if you do not know what the right thing is, then you have NO Honor.   Honor is the only thing that cannot be taken away from you, unless you wish it so.   Honor is the body and spiritual Armor that sees us through hard times.    Honor is what can be seen in the eyes and voices of your friends, if you do not see it there then you have no Honor.   With out Honor you are but a husk of humanity, empty as a dry desert landscape.  Some say Honor reaches into the depth of ones soul, I say, Honor is one's Soul!   Need I say More?   I don't think so!

Foul Mouth "Cussing"  is something we can all do with out.  There is nothing that displays ignorance more than a mouth full of foul 4 letter words.  The Honorable Pilot does not abuse his fellow Pilots with Cuss words.  If I'm the Game Master, I will Kick the cussing offender out after  a warning.  Nothing personal, I just don't like that kind of trash, nor do others.  It's very immature whether you are 12 or 60.  Whining is another very bad trait and never done by the true Honorable Pilot.  If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.  Many pilots will be better than  you.  Don't complain.  Don't cuss.  Watch and learn!
